Actuary – Internal Audit

About the role

OUTsurance is seeking a commercially aware and technically strong Actuary to join its Internal Audit team. This position offers exposure across multiple business units and geographies within the OUTsurance Group, focusing on independent, risk‑based assurance over actuarial environments.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the actuarial audit universe, incorporating new legislation, emerging risks and stakeholder needs.
• Create an annual risk‑based actuarial audit plan aligned with regulatory requirements.
• Plan, execute and report on actuarial audits for both short‑term and long‑term insurance entities, locally and internationally.
• Build and maintain relationships with actuarial and business stakeholders.
• Perform risk‑based reviews covering reserving, capital, pricing, underwriting, ORSA, stress testing, actuarial governance and HAF compliance.
• Represent Internal Audit in committees and actuarial forums.
• Track and validate audit findings quarterly.
• Support broader Internal Audit engagements when actuarial expertise is required.

Required profile

• Relevant degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Actuarial Sciences, Data Science or similar.
• 6‑8 years of actuarial experience; qualified actuary preferred, CERA advantageous.
• Prior internal audit or risk management experience is a plus.
• Experience in both short‑term and long‑term insurance preferred.
• Strong analytical judgement, professional skepticism and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently in complex, unfamiliar environments.
