Wine Tasting and Shop Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Wine Tasting and Shop Manager to lead our exclusive wine shop and tasting room in Constantia, Cape Town. The role combines wine sales, tasting events, stock management and client relationship building within a high‑end retail environment.

Key responsibilities

• Drive in‑store wine sales and provide expert guidance to customers.
• Organise and manage daily wine tastings and curated tasting events.
• Oversee stock control, ordering and inventory of wines and related accessories.
• Develop and maintain relationships with wineries, suppliers and high‑net‑worth clientele.
• Collaborate with internal marketing and sales teams to promote the shop.
• Handle in‑store administration, cash‑up procedures and housekeeping duties.

Required profile

• Minimum WSET Level 2 (or equivalent Cape Wines Academy qualification); Level 3 is advantageous.
• At least 5 years of experience in wine tasting, wine sales or wine hospitality.
• South African residency or a valid work permit.
• Strong knowledge of and passion for the wine industry.
• Professional appearance, excellent communication and comfort working with high‑net‑worth clients.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
