Wet Services Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a skilled Wet Services Engineer to design sustainable water infrastructure and building services across commercial, industrial, residential, healthcare, education and mixed‑use projects. You will join a multidisciplinary team and collaborate with architects, developers, project managers and other engineering disciplines.

Key responsibilities

• Design water reticulation, sewer reticulation, stormwater management and internal plumbing systems.
• Develop above‑ and below‑ground drainage, rainwater harvesting and hot/cold water services.
• Perform hydraulic calculations and engineering analysis.
• Prepare detailed reports, specifications, tender documents and technical schedules.
• Create and review engineering drawings using AutoCAD and Revit.
• Coordinate designs with mechanical, electrical, structural and civil teams.
• Conduct site inspections, attend technical meetings and oversee construction quality.
• Ensure compliance with SANS standards, municipal requirements and South African building regulations.
• Liaise with authorities, contractors, clients and project stakeholders.
• Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and draughtsmen.
• Support projects from concept through commissioning and close‑out.

Required profile

• BEng/BSc/BTech in Mechanical or Civil Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in wet services engineering within a consulting environment.
• Proven experience in plumbing, drainage, water reticulation, sewer infrastructure and stormwater design.
• Strong knowledge of SANS 10252, SANS 10254, National Building Regulations and municipal standards.
• Valid South African driver’s licence and willingness to travel to project sites.
