Wealth Sales Director, Africa

About the role

BlackRock is seeking a Wealth Sales Director to lead the Africa Wealth Sales team from South Africa. The role will deliver the full range of BlackRock product capabilities—including Index/ETF, Active, Alternatives, and technology solutions—to wealth management clients across the continent.

Key responsibilities

• Set a client‑centric strategy to deepen relationships and grow BlackRock’s Africa franchise across wealth segments.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key wealth clients, platforms, asset managers, boutique managers, DFMs, and financial advisors.
• Drive and execute a segment‑specific distribution strategy aligned with regional market dynamics.
• Own and expand the wealth client book across Africa, including client mapping, account planning, and senior stakeholder engagement.
• Demonstrate deep understanding of BlackRock’s full platform (Index, Active, Alternatives, Aladdin) to deliver tailored solutions.
• Partner closely with Institutional and BlackRock Solutions teams to support broader client coverage.
• Build, monitor, and own the regional book of business in line with firm best practices and commercial objectives.
• Facilitate collaboration across sales, product specialists, and global teams to deliver coordinated client outcomes.
• Champion client‑journey excellence across sales, support, and client experience functions.
• Execute product campaigns through client education sessions, roadshows, and events (both in‑person and virtual).

Required profile

• Proven ability to set and implement client‑centric sales strategies.
• Strong relationship‑building skills with wealth‑management stakeholders across Africa.
• Experience managing senior‑level (including C‑suite) client engagements.
• Track record of growing a regional book of business in a financial services environment.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of BlackRock’s Index, Active, Alternatives, and Aladdin platforms.
