Water Treatment Operator

About the role

The Water Treatment Operator is responsible for managing the receipt, storage, and distribution of chemicals used in water treatment processes. The role ensures accurate documentation, safe handling of hazardous materials, and proper maintenance of equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Receive chemical deliveries, operate a forklift only if trained, and off‑load chemicals from trucks.
• Submit delivery paperwork to technicians and record stock levels.
• Transfer chemicals from bulk storage to day tanks, using barricades and signage as needed.
• Prepare daily usage, pasteurizer, and service reports for boilers, cooling systems, pasteurizers, and chlorine dioxide units.
• Collect samples from equipment for testing and check for leaks, slime, and foam.
• Ensure sufficient testing reagents are on‑site and capture operator concerns.
• Maintain good housekeeping around bulk storage and chemical stations.

Required profile

• Trained forklift operator (if required for the role).
• Attention to detail for accurate record‑keeping and reporting.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and use protective signage.
• Strong commitment to maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
