Warranty Specialist Consultant

About the role

The Warranty Specialist Consultant oversees and optimises warranty operations across an assigned dealer group, acting as the main link between the client and the dealer network. The role combines compliance monitoring with a growth mindset, improving dealer engagement and operational effectiveness. It also involves managing and developing the Warranty Specialist team, and stepping in to handle specialist duties when needed.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop the Warranty Specialist team, including recruitment, onboarding, training and performance management
• Prepare regular operational and performance reports, analyse warranty trends and claims, and monitor KPIs, SLAs and compliance
• Develop management information packs and executive dashboards, and give strategic recommendations to improve warranty profitability
• Monitor warranty operations across dealers, stand in as a Warranty Specialist during peak periods, and run warranty reviews, audits and compliance checks
• Implement corrective action plans, act as escalation point for complex queries, and build long-term relationships with dealer principals and service managers
• Improve warranty processes and drive dealer buy-in to improvement programmes
• Act as subject matter expert on warranty rules and legal requirements, coach teams on claim management, and lead workshops

Required profile

• Minimum 5-7 years' experience in automotive warranty operations, aftersales or service management
• Proven team management experience, preferably with dealer staff or specialists
• Experience in a consultative or account management role focused on business growth
• Significant experience in dealer coaching and warranty audits
• Extensive experience with complex warranty and goodwill assessments

Required skills

• Expert knowledge of national automotive warranty policies, procedures and consumer law
• Deep understanding of dealership operations, workshop flow, service and warranty coding
• Knowledge of automotive parts, diagnosis and repair processes
• Understanding of SLAs and performance-based contracts
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and CRM software
