Warehouse Team Leader – Contract Logistics

About the role

The Warehouse Team Leader will supervise picking and replenishment operations in a fast‑paced contract logistics environment. You will ensure productivity, quality and safety standards are met while driving daily performance through strict SOP adherence and effective staff management.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and achieve hourly productivity targets for various equipment (Pick Tower, Turret Truck, Reach Truck, Order Picker).
• Conduct pre‑shift toolbox talks and review prior shift performance.
• Perform daily Periodic Job Observations to enforce SOP compliance.
• Maintain hourly housekeeping standards and equipment control.
• Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies, compile performance reports, and support KPI tracking.
• Lead, train and manage team members to sustain high morale, productivity and retention.

Required profile

• Grade 12 qualification.
• Minimum 3 years experience in a warehouse environment, including stock control and inbound/returns processes.
• Strong planning, organizing, leading, controlling and monitoring abilities.
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work under pressure, including extended or after‑hours shifts when required.

Required skills

• Experience with Cargo Write or a similar Warehouse Management System (WMS).
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
