Warehouse Pharmacist

About the role

Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking a Warehouse Pharmacist for its Clinical Trials Division. The role ensures the safety, quality, and efficacy of pharmaceutical products by managing all warehousing activities in a regulated environment.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee end‑to‑end warehousing operations for clinical trial supplies.
• Process product receipt, release, storage, and distribution while maintaining regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate logistics and manage drug accountability, including controlled substances.
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure proper handling of hazardous and toxic materials.
• Investigate quality‑related issues with stakeholders and participate in self‑inspections.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and environmental monitoring, including cold‑chain maintenance.

Required profile

• B‑Pharm degree and current registration with the South African Pharmacy Council.
• Previous experience in a wholesale or clinical‑trial environment.
• Knowledge of Good Pharmacy Practice (GPP) and Good Wholesale Practice (GWP).
• Expert understanding of pharmacology, drug safety, and regulatory compliance standards.
• Experience handling controlled substances and import/export requirements for clinical study products.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational abilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other computer applications.
• Demonstrated leadership and team‑management experience.
