Warehouse Operator

About the role

homechoice is seeking a Warehouse Operator to support accurate and timely execution of tasks within its distribution centre. You will work under the supervision of a team leader to ensure smooth receipt, handling, and dispatch of stock.

Key responsibilities

• Receive inbound deliveries, offload, palletise, count, verify, label and prepare stock for movement.
• Execute inventory management tasks using warehouse scanners and systems, including stock movements, bin‑to‑bin transfers, consolidation, replenishment, cycle counts and RBTs.
• Pick internal and customer orders accurately, adhering to operational standards and decant stock back into picking bins when required.
• Operate conveyor systems and related machinery, supporting departmental KPIs for efficient order processing.
• Pack internal and customer orders efficiently while meeting quality and target requirements.
• Load and unload stock and customer orders, scanning goods to ensure accurate movement and dispatch.
• Provide ad‑hoc operational support such as building and breaking combos, labeling, pallet repairs, cleaning and general DC activities.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment, report faulty equipment and complete daily equipment check sheets.
• Comply with all occupational health and safety regulations and distribution centre safety protocols.

Required profile

• Grade 12 / Matric / NQF 4 (minimum requirement).
• 2–5 years of warehouse or distribution centre experience.
• Understanding of stock control and loss‑prevention principles.
• Valid unendorsed driver’s licence and reliable transport to the Blackheath Distribution Centre.
• Medically fit to perform the physical requirements of a DC environment.
• Ability to work shifts, weekends and public holidays when required.
• Clear criminal and credit record.
