Warehouse Manager

About the role

The Retail Distribution Warehouse in Cape Town is seeking a dynamic Warehouse Manager to lead inventory, people, processes and systems. The ideal candidate will have a continuous‑improvement mindset and the character to deliver results in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure the warehouse complies with company standards and HSE regulations.
• Manage receipt, storage and dispatch of a wide range of goods.
• Maximise space utilisation and strategically plan warehouse layout, routes and deliveries.
• Monitor quality, quantity, stock levels, delivery times and overall efficiencies.
• Perform weekly cycle counts, investigate inventory losses and meet cost, productivity, accuracy and timeliness targets.
• Facilitate effective communication across the site and improve staff performance.
• Supervise, coach and train the warehouse team while maintaining accurate attendance records.
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly reports for management and resolve any issues or complaints promptly.
• Remain on call for emergencies and ensure deadlines are met.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years of warehouse experience, including 4 years in a managerial role.
• Ability to adapt quickly to operational changes and work in a high‑energy, busy environment.
• Strong leadership skills with a focus on developing team members.
• Excellent communication skills for interpreting and conveying policies and procedures.
• Valid driver’s licence and reliable personal transport.
