Warehouse Assistant

About the role

Raw Fruit & Veg is seeking a hardworking, reliable and motivated individual to support both buying and warehouse operations. The role involves ensuring high product quality, accurate stock control and timely order fulfillment for hospitality clients across Cape Town.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with daily buying of fresh fruit and vegetables and communicate with suppliers.
• Check incoming stock for quality, freshness and correct quantities.
• Support stock control, rotation and minimise wastage.
• Pick and pack customer orders accurately and ensure timely dispatch.
• Receive, sort, store and organise warehouse stock while monitoring shortages and reporting damaged produce.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.

Required profile

• Previous experience in the fruit and vegetable industry (essential or highly advantageous).
• Knowledge of fruit and vegetable quality, grading and seasonal availability.
• Good numerical skills, attention to detail and basic computer proficiency.
• Reliable, punctual, able to work under pressure and physically fit for hands‑on duties.
• Good communication and organisational skills, own transport and willingness to start work at 3 am.
