Waiter – Guest Service Expert

About the role

We are looking for a friendly and attentive Waiter to join our team at Protea Hotels by Marriott in Polokwane. As a Guest Service Expert you will help create memorable dining experiences for our guests by delivering prompt, high‑quality service.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and clear tables, ensuring a clean and welcoming dining environment.
• Take orders, communicate accurately with the kitchen, and serve food and beverages promptly.
• Interact with guests, answer menu questions, and address any special requests.
• Maintain cleanliness of work areas, replenish supplies, and follow health and safety standards.
• Handle payments and process transactions in a courteous manner.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Less than one year of related experience; enthusiasm to learn.
• Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 25 lb unaided (50 lb with assistance).
• Professional appearance and communication skills.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of food and beverage service procedures.
• Ability to read and verify menu information.
