About the role
Technical Placements is hiring a VSD Drive Technician in Pinetown. The role covers fault finding and board-level repairs on variable speed drives, testing and commissioning, and keeping accurate records.
Key responsibilities
- Fault find on variable speed drives and carry out board-level repairs
- Test VSDs to simulate faults and test them after repairs
- Install and commission VSDs
- Keep accurate time sheets and job records
- Create quotes and source parts
Required profile
- Proven working experience in an electronic technician's role
- 10+ years of work experience in the electronics field
- Relevant qualifications in Electrical or Electronics
- Detail orientated and organised, customer service driven
- Well-spoken English
Required skills
- Solid understanding of electrical principles and electronic signals
- Hands-on experience with variable speed drives
- Ability to fault find using electrical drawings
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
