Utility Cleaner – Hotel Support

About the role

The Utility Cleaner supports essential hotel operations by maintaining cleanliness across multiple departments, including kitchen, food‑and‑beverage, and laundry. Working at a Protea Hotels by Marriott property in Polokwane, you will ensure guests enjoy spotless dining ware, fresh linen and a safe environment.

Key responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, dining ware, and laundry items.
• Operate and maintain dishwashing machines, hand‑wash stations, and linen washers/dryers.
• Transport dishes, linens and supplies between hotel areas.
• Follow health, safety and quality standards at all times.
• Report accidents, injuries or unsafe conditions to the supervisor.
• Perform physical tasks such as lifting, moving and standing for extended periods.

Required profile

• Ability to work full‑time in a fast‑paced hospitality environment.
• No specific educational or certification requirements; high school diploma or equivalent not required.
• No prior related work experience required.

Required skills

• Basic operation of cleaning equipment (dishwashers, laundry machines).
• Physical stamina to lift up to 50 lb and stand for long periods.
