Turbine Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Turbine Engineer to ensure safe, reliable and efficient operation of steam, gas, hydro or wind turbines at our Johannesburg site. The role involves leading maintenance activities, diagnosing faults and supporting new turbine installations.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, supervise and execute routine and major turbine maintenance and overhauls.
• Diagnose equipment faults, conduct inspections and monitor performance metrics.
• Analyse failures and implement reliability improvement actions.
• Support installation and commissioning projects, ensuring compliance with safety and engineering standards.
• Manage maintenance budgets, contractors and provide technical guidance to maintenance teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or BTech in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Professional registration with ECSA (Pr Eng or Pr Tech Eng) preferred.
• 5–10 years of experience in turbine maintenance, reliability or power generation.
• Experience with steam, gas, hydro or wind turbines; OEM training or certification advantageous.
