Truck Driver – Internal & Local

About the role

The Department of Technical Services of Ulundi Municipality is seeking a qualified Truck Driver for internal and local duties. The successful candidate will operate trucks on construction and maintenance projects, ensuring safe and efficient delivery of services.

Key responsibilities

• Perform pre‑ and post‑maintenance tasks at the depot for allocated assignments.
• Inspect safety devices, controls and lubricant levels, reporting any defects before departure.
• Complete and forward internal transactional documentation such as tally sheets and progress reports.
• Operate the truck during construction and maintenance activities, including excavating, back‑filling, loading, grading and leveling.
• Communicate with on‑site supervisors to confirm requirements and specifications.
• Observe site markings and instructions to achieve required ground surface specifications.

Required profile

• Secondary school qualification.
• Minimum two years relevant truck‑driving experience.
• Ability to work overtime as required.

Required skills

• Valid Code 14 (EC) driver’s licence (PrDP).
• Certification of competency in the operation of a truck.
