Travelling Head Person

About the role

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Travelling Head Person to join our busy dual‑purpose (Flat & National Hunt) racing yard. This key position manages runners on race days across the UK, ensuring horses are cared for and presented to the highest standard.

Key responsibilities

• Represent the yard at racecourses nationwide on both Flat and National Hunt fixtures.
• Take full responsibility for horses on race day, from arrival through to post‑race care.
• Turn out horses to a high professional standard, including saddling and leading up.
• Oversee staff and ensure smooth race‑day operations.
• Monitor horse welfare before and after racing.
• Liaise with jockeys, owners, and racecourse officials.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a racing yard or similar equine environment.
• Strong organisational and leadership abilities.
• Willingness to travel frequently across the UK.
• Commitment to maintaining the highest standards of horse welfare.

Required skills

• Valid car driving licence.
