About the role

Liberty is seeking a meticulous and experienced Trade Support Specialist for its Johannesburg-based Global Markets team. The role bridges front-office investment strategies and back-office execution, keeping every transaction settled accurately and on time. It covers a wide range of products, including fixed income and structured solutions, and requires a proactive approach to risk management.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the trade lifecycle for complex Global Markets transactions, from execution and allocation through matching and final settlement.
• Resolve trade exceptions and settlement queries with sound judgement and technical proficiency.
• Partner with Risk, Compliance and Front Office to ensure efficient execution of investment strategies.
• Work with technology and finance teams to implement process optimisations and automation.
• Apply knowledge of pricing and risk management to protect the P&L and the stability of the value chain.

Required profile

• First degree in a relevant field such as Commerce, Finance, Accounting or Mathematical Sciences.
• 3-5 years of direct experience in Trade Support Operations within a Global Markets environment.
• Demonstrable mastery of the end-to-end trade lifecycle across diverse financial instruments.
• Ability to manage your own tasks, coordinate across cross-functional teams and document processes clearly.
