Structured Trade Support Specialist

About the role

Standard Bank Group is looking for a Specialist Trade Support, Structured based in Johannesburg. The role covers complex and structured Global Markets trades across multiple products and asset classes, ensuring accurate trade and client data and effective booking, allocation, matching and settlement.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse complex and structured Global Markets trades across multiple products and asset classes
• Execute standard and non-standard procedures to verify the accuracy of trade and client data
• Ensure effective booking, allocation, matching and settlement of trades throughout their lifecycle
• Resolve exceptions and queries to mitigate adverse effects and operational risks
• Identify and recommend solutions for process efficiencies

Required profile

• First degree in Business, Commerce, Finance and Accounting, Mathematical Sciences or similar
• 3-5 years of experience in trade support and operations
• Advanced experience in the trade lifecycle of the Global Markets environment, covering multiple products
• Knowledge of pricing and risk management principles and their impact on risk, P&L and the value chain
• Seasoned understanding of the end-to-end trading environment, with system and manual process complexity
• Ability to self-manage and coordinate across teams and stakeholders in business, operations, technology and finance

Required skills

• Proficiency with desk-specific systems, software and processes, including Microsoft applications and other banking industry systems
• Technical competencies: deal or trade life cycles, derivatives markets, exception handling, query resolution, continuous process improvement and product knowledge of trading and transacting
