Trade Pharmacy Representative – EPD (FTC)

About the role

Abbott is seeking a Trade Pharmacy Representative for its Established Pharmaceutical Division in Roodepoort. You will be responsible for driving sales of branded generic medicines across multiple therapeutic areas, building strong relationships with pharmacy staff, and ensuring optimal product visibility.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute sales strategies to meet territory targets.
• Maintain high customer call rates, strike rates, and coverage.
• Compile and update the regional sales operating plan.
• Identify new business opportunities and attend relevant meetings and conferences.
• Negotiate display space and build impactful in‑store merchandising.
• Take accurate stock counts, apply FIFO principles, and assist with product presentation.
• Train and detail pharmacy staff, including all healthcare professionals.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Human Sciences, Marketing or Business Management (preferred).
• Minimum 3 years of pharmacy sales experience in the East Rand.
• Established relationships with pharmacies in the Johannesburg area.
• Fluent English with a proven sales track record.
• Strong organizational, time‑management and territory‑coverage skills.
• Positive, can‑do attitude, integrity, initiative and adaptability.
• Entrepreneurial spirit, skilled negotiator and problem‑solver.
