Trackless Maintenance Specialist

About the role

The Trackless Maintenance Specialist is responsible for leading the Asset Capability Assurance process for the trackless fleet, workshop and refuelling facilities. The role ensures high availability of equipment, compliance with safety, health, environment and quality standards, and continuous improvement of maintenance operations.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the trackless fleet to achieve at least 85% availability and ensure SAP Plant Maintenance data meets company standards.
• Plan, schedule and monitor corrective and preventive maintenance activities, balancing workload with available manpower.
• Supervise and coach a team of trackless mobile‑machinery technicians, manage performance, conduct career discussions and recruitment interviews.
• Implement SHEQ risk assessments, apply mitigation measures and report status through the Integrated Management System.
• Track equipment uptime, breakdowns, spare‑parts usage and produce monthly performance reports, including the Yellow Machine Report.
• Maintain spare‑parts inventory at optimal levels and develop emergency action plans.
• Compile preventive‑maintenance schedules, calculate mean time between failures and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven experience supervising maintenance teams in a mining or heavy‑industry environment.
• Strong understanding of safety, health, environment and quality (SHEQ) compliance.
• Ability to manage labour stability, performance targets and individual development plans.
• Excellent analytical and reporting skills.

Required skills

• SAP Plant Maintenance (SAP PM) or equivalent maintenance management system.
• Asset capability assurance and maintenance planning.
• Integrated Management System (IMS) usage for SHEQ reporting.
• Spare‑parts inventory management.
• Data analysis for MTBF calculations and performance reporting.
