About the role
This is a temporary two‑month position as a Shop Assistant for a small retail business in Kraaifontein, Cape Town. The role starts immediately and may be extended based on performance.
Key responsibilities
- Assist customers and provide excellent service throughout the shop.
- Operate the till and POS system, handling cash and card payments and performing daily cash‑ups.
- Receive, unpack, display stock and check stock levels and expiry dates.
- Maintain cleanliness of shelves, floors, refrigerators and overall shop area.
- Open and close the shop as required and manage daily operations independently.
Required profile
- Previous experience in retail, grocery or convenience store environments is preferred.
- Honest, punctual, responsible and presentable with reliable transport to Kraaifontein.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Physically capable of handling stock and cleaning duties.
