Temporary Legal & Compliance Services Practitioner – 6‑Month Contract

About the role

This six‑month temporary position supports a public entity in delivering legal and compliance services. The practitioner will ensure that all contractual and regulatory matters align with the entity’s policies and South African public‑sector legislation.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and vet a wide range of complex agreements.
• Interpret and apply SCM legislation, policies and processes relevant to the public sector.
• Provide legal advice on regulatory compliance and risk mitigation.
• Prepare detailed reports, business correspondence and procedural manuals.
• Present findings and recommendations to managers, clients and stakeholders.
• Address multifaceted problems using a structured, analytical approach.

Required profile

• LLB degree with admission as an attorney or advocate of the High Court.
• 5‑8 years post‑admission legal experience.
• Compliance qualification and at least 5 years of compliance‑management experience.
• Proven ability to draft and vet complex agreements.
• Advanced knowledge of SCM legislation and public‑sector processes.
• Strong analytical, report‑writing and presentation skills.
• Positive, innovative attitude and ability to work independently.
