Telesales Representative – Entry Level

About the role

We are seeking a motivated, customer‑focused Telesales Representative to join Montagu Snacks’ growing retail and e‑commerce team. This entry‑level position is ideal for candidates eager to start a career in sales and business operations, acting as the first point of contact for customers.

Key responsibilities

• Make outbound calls to prospective and existing customers to promote the newly launched Business‑to‑Business platform.
• Handle inbound sales enquiries professionally, converting leads into confirmed orders.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of the product catalogue, pricing and current promotions.
• Follow up on abandoned carts, lapsed customers and promotional campaigns.
• Accurately record all customer interactions and sales activity.
• Escalate complex queries or complaints to the appropriate team member.
• Process customer orders, returns and exchanges accurately and in a timely manner.
• Assist with stock queries, coordinating with the warehouse or fulfilment team as needed.
• Handle incoming emails and correspondence, responding promptly and professionally.
• Support the onboarding of new customers with account setup and documentation.

Required profile

• Matric / Grade 12 certificate (essential).
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a sales and customer service environment with contactable references.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Strong telephone manner with a confident, friendly and professional approach.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, target‑driven environment.
• High attention to detail, reliable, punctual and a team player with a positive attitude.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
