Telecoms Engineering Lead – Hybrid – Up to R1.7m PA

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Lead to drive the design and delivery of high‑performance, cloud‑native telecom solutions. This permanent, hybrid position will be based in Stellenbosch and offers the opportunity to shape the future of MVNO platforms, real‑time charging, and service orchestration.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a software engineering team of 2‑3 senior engineers.
• Define and enforce architecture, design, and technical strategy across multiple telecom domains.
• Build and evolve scalable cloud‑native platforms using containers and Kubernetes.
• Collaborate with product, operations, and business stakeholders to align delivery with market needs.
• Oversee development of real‑time charging, provisioning, and service orchestration solutions.
• Ensure seamless integration with OSS/BSS ecosystems and MVNO order‑management systems.

Required profile

• 2‑3 years of proven experience leading software engineering teams.
• Minimum 10 years of hands‑on software engineering experience.
• Strong stakeholder, customer, and partner management capabilities.
• Passion for mentoring engineers and promoting modern engineering practices.
