Technical Team Leader

About the role

We are looking for a Technical Team Leader to drive the development of new prototypes and ensure they are ready for mass production. The role sits in the Prototype department of Bravo Brands Manufacturing, supporting the Lounge Division.

Key responsibilities

• Work to the design schedule and meet deadlines.
• Provide technical support to the production team on specification issues.
• Oversee the timely build and completion of samples and prototypes.
• Conduct on‑floor trials and product testing.
• Manage projects assigned by the Technical Manager.
• Ensure new designs are production‑friendly, cost‑effective and meet customer quality standards.
• Validate material specifications and optimise material usage.
• Balance workload across pinning teams to keep the prototype schedule on track.
• Consolidate upholstery specifications for the technical office.
• Assist the technical team with any product‑related queries.

Required profile

• Matric (Grade 12) or NQF Level 4 – essential.
• Technical or trade qualification – advantageous.
• Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
• Proven staff supervisory skills.
• Behavioural strengths: tactical thinking, operational initiative, accountability, result‑orientation, teamwork and high work standards.
