Technical Support & Internal Sales Specialist

About the role

We are looking for a Technical Support and Internal Sales Specialist to join our team in Pietermaritzburg. The role combines technical product assistance with internal sales support, ensuring branches receive accurate quotations and product guidance.

Key responsibilities

• Assist DBN, PE and CPT branches with product and application queries.
• Support Durban internal sales by checking quotes and selecting appropriate products.
• Guide staff on breakers, protection devices, control gear, metering, PV/DC and automation items.
• Verify part numbers, ratings, poles, voltage, curves, accessories and alternatives.
• Identify mismatches between customer requirements and quoted items.
• Prepare or confirm technical datasheets and supplier confirmations.
• Escalate complex queries to senior technical staff or suppliers and follow through.
• Promote internal product knowledge, coordinate with branches and ensure clear technical communication.

Required profile

• Matric qualification.
• Electrical background or experience in electrical wholesale, switchgear, panel building or contractor supply.
• Knowledge of low‑voltage switchgear is advantageous.
• Experience with circuit breakers, protection devices, control gear, metering, PV/DC or automation products is beneficial.
• Previous internal sales or technical support experience preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
