Technical Researcher / Sourcer – Remote

About the role

We are looking for a Technical Researcher / Sourcer to join a boutique recruiting firm that partners with high‑growth, venture‑backed startups. In this remote position you will hunt for top‑tier engineering, product and design talent that isn’t actively looking, delivering market‑maps and intelligence that drive hiring decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct deep‑dive market mapping across AI, climate/energy, fintech, security and enterprise SaaS to visualise talent ecosystems.
• Identify and engage passive engineers, designers and product managers using advanced LinkedIn Recruiter Boolean searches and GitHub mining.
• Track talent movement, headcount trends, funding rounds and competitor hiring activity to predict talent availability.
• Produce actionable market maps and intelligence reports for recruiters and client stakeholders.

Required profile

• Passionate about investigative recruiting and data integrity.
• Experience sourcing passive candidates for technical roles, not limited to inbound applicant queues.
• Comfortable working autonomously and delivering high‑quality, precise research quickly.

Required skills

• LinkedIn Recruiter – power‑user level.
• Advanced Boolean search techniques.
• GitHub sourcing and open‑source contributor analysis.
• Market mapping and talent ecosystem research.
• Use of patent databases, academic publications and conference speaker lists for niche searches.
