Technical Procurement Supervisor

About the role

The Technical Procurement Supervisor will lead the sourcing and procurement of aviation components, ensuring compliance with technical specifications, airworthiness standards and South African aviation regulations. The role supports maintenance, engineering and operational teams, especially during AOG (Aircraft on Ground) situations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement effective sourcing strategies to optimise procurement processes and improve response times.
• Ensure all purchases are made from QA‑approved vendors and comply with company policies, SACAA regulations and industry best practices.
• Identify, evaluate and audit potential new suppliers, coordinating credit applications with Finance.
• Maintain accurate procurement documentation in the designated drive and manage ERP requisitions, orders and back‑orders.
• Monitor supplier performance, address non‑conformance, delayed deliveries and technical specification issues.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and cost‑control initiatives, and conduct financial assessments of supplier spend.
• Participate in internal and external audits, focusing on technical compliance and risk mitigation.

Required profile

• Proven experience in technical procurement, preferably within the aviation sector.
• Familiarity with South African aviation regulations (SACAA) and aviation‑specific compliance requirements.
• Strong analytical skills for financial assessments and cost‑saving analysis.
• Ability to work closely with maintenance, engineering and operations teams.
• Excellent documentation and audit‑support capabilities.
