About the role

This senior executive position leads engineering, manufacturing and innovation for a leading South African mining equipment manufacturer. The role combines strategic direction, capital investment oversight and operational excellence to drive long‑term growth.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and executive oversight for engineering, manufacturing and innovation functions.
• Shape long‑term strategies for product development, production efficiency and research & development.
• Guide major capital investment decisions and large‑scale engineering programmes.
• Drive operational excellence across manufacturing and production sites.
• Champion governance, sustainability and risk‑management principles.
• Support succession planning, organisational capability building and executive leadership.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Extensive executive leadership experience in engineering or manufacturing environments with full P&L accountability.
• Proven track record of leading divisions or business units and managing significant capital projects.
• Strong commercial and financial acumen.
• Professional registration (Pr Eng/ECSA) is highly advantageous.
• MBA or postgraduate business qualification is a plus.
