Team Leader – Materials Management

About the role

We are looking for a proactive Team Leader Materials to oversee our Materials Department at our Springs facility. Reporting to the Materials Manager, you will ensure efficient stock management, safe operation of material handling equipment and continuous improvement of warehouse processes.

Key responsibilities

• Manage material stock and handling equipment, controlling variances, waste and damages.
• Supervise daily MHE operations, including forklifts, ensuring safety and efficiency.
• Oversee loading and off‑loading of contracted transport, maintaining accuracy and short turnaround times.
• Lead monthly departmental ICCs, conduct Gemba walks and support weekly/annual stocktakes.
• Identify and drive process improvement initiatives and monitor equipment costs.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality and operational standards, and lead incident investigations.
• Develop and coach subordinates, ensuring competency and motivation.

Required profile

• ND in Logistics/Warehousing or equivalent qualification.
• 3‑5 years experience in a warehouse environment with supervisory responsibilities.
• Proven track record in inventory management, stock control and material flow coordination.
• Strong understanding of receiving, storage, picking, dispatch and stocktaking processes.
• Experience managing Material Handling Equipment with a focus on safety.
