Tax Practitioner

About the role

The Tax Practitioner will deliver comprehensive tax compliance services to individual, trust, estate and company clients of Sanlam Private Wealth. This position is essential for protecting and growing the managed share portfolios handled by the Portfolio Management team.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, compute and lodge provisional and annual tax returns for individuals, trusts, estates and companies.
• Arrange and monitor provisional and assessed tax payments, including tax clearances and cessation of tax residency matters.
• Review income tax assessments, submit supporting documentation and lodge objections where required.
• Maintain accurate client records, file documentation and recover fees for tax work performed.
• Correspond with clients and SARS, resolving queries within legislated timeframes.
• Stay up‑to‑date with relevant tax legislation and internal communication requirements.
• Contribute to the growth and consolidation of the tax book.

Required profile

• Post‑graduate qualification in tax and registration as a tax practitioner in good standing.
• Minimum five years of independent tax compliance experience.
• Proven track record of delivering accurate tax services and building client relationships.
• Strong client focus, collaborative mindset and resilience under pressure.
• Excellent written English.
