Tax Practitioner – Cape Town

About the role

Our client in Cape Town is looking for a detail‑oriented Tax Practitioner to manage a diverse portfolio of individual and corporate clients. You will ensure tax compliance, prepare and submit returns, and act as the primary liaison with SARS.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, review and submit tax calculations and returns for income, provisional, VAT and payroll.
• Process financial data, compile tax schedules and produce management accounts.
• Communicate with clients about tax matters, deadlines and queries.
• Liaise with SARS on objections, appeals and disputes.
• Maintain accurate bookkeeping, financial statements and supporting working papers.
• Assist with billing, timesheet management and revenue‑target activities.
• Train and support junior team members.

Required profile

• Registered Tax Practitioner with at least 5 years of tax and accounting experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Afrikaans.
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively and maintain high attention to detail.

• Knowledge of IAS, IFRS for SMEs, Companies Act and South African tax regulations (VAT, PAYE)
