Tax Manager / Belastingsbestuurder (FN 100)

About the role

The client is a trusted financial services firm offering tax advisory, compliance, accounting and bookkeeping solutions. They are seeking an experienced Tax Manager to lead income‑tax, VAT and global tax compliance for corporate, trust and individual clients.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and review income‑tax returns (ITR14, ITR12, ITR12T) for corporate, trust and individual clients.
• Prepare and review provisional tax estimates (IRP6) and reconcile tax positions.
• Advise on corporate restructurings, group relief, Section 45 rollover relief and cessation of South African tax residency.
• Interpret and apply South Africa’s double tax agreement network and advise on withholding taxes.
• Support SARS registrations, eFiling submissions and correspondence management.
• Conduct Global Minimum Tax (Pillar Two) compliance analysis.
• Perform VAT compliance reviews, reconciliations and dispute advisory.
• Prepare voluntary disclosure programme (VDP) applications and draft objections or appeals.
• Serve as primary client contact for ongoing compliance and advisory matters.
• Maintain compliance registers, manage submission deadlines and mentor tax trainees.

Required skills

• Preparation and review of ITR14, ITR12, ITR12T returns
• Provisional tax estimation (IRP6) and tax reconciliation
• Knowledge of South African corporate tax restructuring and group relief provisions
• Understanding of Section 45 rollover relief and Section 9H exit charge mechanics
• Application of double tax agreements and withholding tax rules
• Experience with SARS eFiling and registration processes
• Familiarity with Global Minimum Tax (Pillar Two) compliance
• VAT compliance, input/output tax dispute handling
• Voluntary Disclosure Programme (VDP) preparation and objection drafting
