Tax Consultant

About the role

We are an established Wealth Management Group seeking a Tax Consultant to join our team in Hyde Park, Johannesburg. The role involves delivering expert tax guidance within a collaborative, client‑focused environment, ensuring clarity, confidence, and compliance for our high‑net‑worth clients.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, review and submit individual, trust, company and deceased estate tax returns via SARS eFiling.
• Provide tax advice aligned with clients’ overall financial plans and wealth strategies.
• Collaborate with Financial Planners and the Legacy & Trust team on tax‑efficient structuring.
• Identify and implement tax planning opportunities while maintaining full compliance.
• Manage SARS correspondence, including assessments, objections, verifications and audit queries.
• Interpret tax legislation and translate it into clear, practical guidance for clients.
• Maintain accurate client tax records and monitor legislative changes.
• Support continuous improvement of internal processes and client service delivery.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Tax or a related field.
• Registered Tax Practitioner (required).
• Membership with a recognised professional body (advantageous).
• Minimum 4–5 years’ experience in tax compliance and advisory.
• Strong experience with individual, trust, company and estate tax returns.
• Proven experience dealing with SARS, including audits and queries.
