Tax Consultant – Client Portfolio Management

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Tax Consultant to join our well‑established advisory and accounting practice in Kempton Park. The successful candidate will manage a diverse portfolio of individual and business clients, providing comprehensive tax compliance and advisory services while liaising directly with SARS.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and grow a portfolio of individual, company and trust clients.
• Prepare and submit Individual, Company and Trust tax returns.
• Calculate and submit provisional tax, and handle VAT, PAYE, Dividends Tax and Donations Tax compliance.
• Manage SARS verifications, audits and correspondence, including drafting objections, remissions and suspension of payment requests.
• Utilise SARS eFiling and related software to ensure timely and accurate submissions.
• Engage with clients and SARS representatives to resolve tax matters efficiently.

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting, Taxation, Finance or a related discipline.
• Proven experience preparing Individual, Company and Trust tax returns and provisional tax calculations.
• Strong knowledge of VAT, PAYE, Dividends Tax and Donations Tax compliance.
• Experience handling SARS audits and drafting formal objections.
• Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
• SAIPA, SAIT or other relevant tax qualification is advantageous.

Required skills

• Proficiency with SARS eFiling platform.
• Working knowledge of GreatSoft tax software.
