Tax Compliance Officer

About the role

The Tax Compliance Officer will support the tax team in preparing and filing tax returns for individuals, companies and trusts, ensuring compliance with South African SARS regulations. The role involves handling a wide range of tax calculations, registrations and queries while maintaining high accuracy and timeliness.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and complete tax schedules, income statements, asset & liability reconciliations and CGT calculations for individuals.
• Compile and submit IT12, IT14, IT12TR and ITA34 returns for individuals, companies and trusts via SARS e‑filing.
• Process tax directive applications, IRP6 returns and tax clearance applications for good standing, tenders or foreign investment.
• Register new taxpayers (individuals, companies, close corporations, trusts) and support related documentation.
• Facilitate SARS payments, including dividend withholding tax forms DWT01 & DWT02.
• Resolve income tax, VAT and PAYE disputes on behalf of clients.
• Respond to client queries and liaise with SARS to obtain satisfactory outcomes.

Required profile

• Reliable, accurate and responsible with solid tax knowledge.
• Minimum three years of experience in a similar tax compliance role.
• Computer literate with proven SARS e‑filing experience.
• Valid driver’s licence.
