Tax Client Accountant

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Tax Client Accountant to join our professional services team in Cape Town. You will work directly with a diverse portfolio of clients, delivering high‑quality accounting, tax and advisory solutions while building strong, long‑term relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare annual financial statements for companies, trusts and sole proprietorships in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
• Compile and review financial information, ensuring accuracy, completeness and compliance.
• Prepare and submit tax returns and provisional tax calculations for individuals, trusts and companies, liaising with SARS as required.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for client queries, communicating accounting and tax matters clearly and professionally.
• Assist with workflow planning, billing processes and maintain accurate client records across internal systems.

Required profile

• BCom, BCom Accounting or equivalent qualification.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience in accounting, tax or audit, including preparation and review of annual financial statements.
• Progress towards or completion of SAICA/SAIPA articles is advantageous.
• Strong attention to detail, excellent planning and organisational skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Experience with accounting software such as CaseWare, Xero or Pastel.
• Familiarity with tax software like ProfTax and SARS eFiling.
• Knowledge of SharePoint is beneficial.
