Talent Acquisition Officer

About the role

This position is responsible for end‑to‑end in‑house recruitment for a busy import/export group based in Durban. The Talent Acquisition Officer will own the full recruitment lifecycle across multiple subsidiaries, delivering high‑quality talent while maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver recruitment across several business units, balancing central standards with local hiring needs.
• Build and maintain a central talent database and shared pipelines.
• Manage the complete recruitment process from vacancy notification to offer acceptance and HR onboarding handover.
• Conduct screening interviews, coordinate assessments, and complete reference checks.
• Present candidate information in a structured format to support hiring decisions.
• Maintain accurate recruitment data, ATS records, and reporting dashboards.
• Source candidates through direct search, internal databases, referrals, LinkedIn, and targeted outreach.
• Reduce reliance on external agencies by developing strong internal pipelines.

Required profile

• Proactive ownership of recruitment activities across multiple subsidiaries.
• Ability to manage several open roles simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication skills to keep stakeholders updated on progress.
• Experience in building internal talent pools and supporting internal mobility.
• Attention to detail in maintaining accurate recruitment records.

Required skills

• Experience with ATS platforms.
• Proficiency in LinkedIn Recruiter.
• Familiarity with job boards, assessment tools, and reporting dashboards.
