T1 Technician – Mining Electronics (Impala, Rustenburg)

About the role

Schauenburg Systems is seeking a T1 Technician to deliver technical services for electronic technology that supports health, safety and productivity on the Impala mine in Rustenburg. The role involves installing, maintaining and supporting electronic hardware and software systems in a demanding mining environment.

Key responsibilities

• Install, repair, certify and provide technical support for electronic products and systems on the mine.
• Set up and test units to meet specified requirements and perform quality checks in line with company policy.
• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues, determine root causes and either implement corrective actions or escalate to senior staff.
• Maintain electronic equipment and software, record maintenance activities and report further requirements.
• Assist with new projects, operate hand tools and small power tools safely, and ensure housekeeping standards.
• Liaise with other technical staff and on‑site customers to uphold quality, safety and contractual obligations.
• Prepare documentation, reports and paperwork for the mine, customers and technical supervisors.

Required profile

• National Certificate (N4) in Electrical/Electronics.
• Minimum 4 years experience in electronics (hardware and software) and IT (hardware, networks and software).
• Familiarity with the company’s Advantage product.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
• Valid driver’s licence and own vehicle.
