Systems Developer (Contract) – Durban

About the role

The South African Sugar Association (SASA) is hiring a Systems Developer on a one‑year contract. Based in Mount Edgecombe, KZN, this hybrid position joins the Autolab division’s development team to build and maintain enterprise‑grade web solutions for the sugar industry.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain web applications using C#, ASP.NET Core (MVC), Angular, HTML, CSS and TypeScript.
• Develop and deploy cloud‑based solutions on Microsoft Azure (App Services, Azure SQL, DevOps).
• Provide support for Oracle and SQL Server databases.
• Participate in code reviews, testing and deployment processes.
• Collaborate within an Agile development environment.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Information Systems.
• Valid, endorsement‑free Code 08 driver’s licence.
• Experience with object‑oriented design, database design, XML schema, web services and MVC patterns.
• Proven ability to work in a hybrid setting and communicate with end‑users.
