System Administrator – Site Owner

About the role

We are looking for an experienced System and Network Administrator to act as the site owner for GVW Group infrastructure in Cape Town. The role provides hands‑on operational support for TRIZ Engineering, Aculocity South Africa, and other GVW Group systems, working closely with a US‑based infrastructure team.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain on‑site servers, storage, networking equipment and power systems.
• Administer the local network, ensuring security, availability and optimal performance.
• Monitor systems, troubleshoot incidents, and resolve issues promptly.
• Manage user accounts, permissions and access controls via Active Directory.
• Perform routine backups and support disaster‑recovery procedures.
• Support end‑user environments, including CAD workstations, peripherals and mobile devices.
• Collaborate with US‑based infrastructure teams to align with global standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience in system and network administration within a complex technical environment.
• Strong understanding of Windows Server, Active Directory and enterprise backup solutions.
• Ability to work independently on‑site while coordinating with remote teams.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to system reliability.
