About the role
The Switchboard Operator provides essential administrative support to the Front Office team at a Fairmont hotel. Working from the main hotel line, you will ensure smooth communication between guests, internal departments, and external partners, helping to create a seamless guest experience.
Key responsibilities
- Answer all incoming calls following Fairmont (Royal Service) and Leading Hotels of the World standards.
- Provide callers with accurate information about hotel outlets, facilities, services and operating hours.
- Direct calls to the appropriate departments and coordinate messages.
- Prepare daily staff transport lists for all hotel staff (Heartists) and manage staff transport coordination.
- Support Front Office administrative tasks, including printer management and monthly service coordination.
- Complete arrival preparations for the following day, highlighting guest requests, celebrations and VIP profiles.
- Compile and email weekly WBK, HIP and VIP profiles to all relevant hotel departments.
Required profile
- Strong verbal communication skills to convey information clearly and concisely.
- Attention to detail for accurate guest profiling and transport coordination.
- Ability to work collaboratively with Front Office and other hotel departments.
- Commitment to delivering service that exceeds guest expectations.
