Supply Chain Management Administrator

About the role

The municipality is seeking a competent Supply Chain Management Administrator to support its financial services division. The role involves overseeing procurement processes, managing contracts and ensuring compliance with municipal regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and update the contract register and all SCM registers.
• Conduct performance evaluations for contract‑related payments and manage the Bid Evaluation Committee.
• Lead tender evaluations, draft comprehensive reports and ensure accurate recording of bids.
• Review and update Declarations of Interest and Gifts registers in line with SCM Regulation 46.
• Monitor validity periods of contracts and prepare documentation for extensions.
• Procure goods and services below R300 000, preparing quotations, recommending suppliers and capturing purchase orders.
• Collect and analyse data to implement the annual procurement plan and verify fund availability.
• Address user inquiries promptly and ensure audit matters are resolved.

Required profile

• A relevant 3‑year tertiary qualification, preferably in SCM, Logistics, Procurement or Finance.
• 2–5 years of relevant experience.
• Code B driver’s licence.
• Municipal Minimum Competency for Supply Chain Management qualification or ability to become compliant within 18 months of appointment.
• Computer literacy with MS Office proficiency.
