Structural Rebar Detailer – Consulting Engineering

About the role

A well‑established consulting engineering firm in Durbanville is looking for a detail‑oriented Structural Rebar Detailer. You will produce accurate reinforcement drawings and bending schedules for residential, commercial and industrial projects while collaborating closely with structural engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Generate precise rebar bending schedules and reinforcement detailing drawings.
• Interpret architectural and structural drawings to create detailed reinforcement layouts.
• Work with structural engineers to ensure compliance with project specifications and South African standards.
• Review drawings for accuracy, constructability and standards compliance.
• Maintain organized drawing registers, revisions and project documentation.
• Provide technical support during construction and resolve site queries.
• Coordinate with suppliers for timely procurement and delivery of reinforcement materials.
• Conduct site visits and assist with reinforcement inspections when required.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Structural Rebar Detailer.
• Strong understanding of reinforced concrete detailing and construction principles.
• Ability to interpret structural and architectural drawings.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem‑solving abilities.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple projects.
• Good communication skills and teamwork orientation.
• Knowledge of relevant SANS standards and reinforcement detailing requirements.
