Stores & Materials Handler

About the role

Are you an experienced Stores, Warehouse or Materials Handler looking for an opportunity where accuracy, reliability and safety are valued? We are seeking a Stores & Materials Handler to join a Stores team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the accurate preparation, movement and control of raw materials and finished products between the Stores and Production departments, while also supporting customer deliveries and Finished Goods Store operations. This is a hands‑on role suited to someone who is physically strong, safety conscious and comfortable working in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Weigh and issue raw materials, ready‑to‑press materials and hard scrap to designated production processes.
• Operate a forklift to retrieve materials from warehouse racking and deliver them to production.
• Collect completed materials from production and return them to the warehouse.
• Place materials into designated racking locations and accurately capture stock movements on the stores system.
• Receive, inspect and sort incoming hard scrap, separating foreign metals and storing approved material safely.
• Carry out urgent customer deliveries using the company vehicle and deliver sales orders to local customers.
• Support the Finished Goods Store by picking orders, receiving and checking stock, booking stock into the system and performing general warehouse duties.
• Maintain accurate stock records, follow safety procedures and keep the work environment clean and organised.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a warehouse, stores or materials‑handling environment; manufacturing experience is advantageous.
• Valid South African driver’s licence; forklift licence preferred.
• Physically fit and able to lift heavy loads, stand and walk for extended periods.
• Trustworthy, reliable, safety‑conscious and able to work with minimal supervision.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

Required skills

• Forklift operation (valid licence preferred).
• Use of inventory/stock management system for recording movements.
• Basic mathematical calculations for weighing and measuring stock.
• Basic computer literacy.

What we offer

• CTC of R14 000 per month.
