Storeman – Inventory & Stock Control

About the role

The Storeman is responsible for receiving, staging, and managing merchandise across departments, ensuring accurate inventory levels and compliance with food safety standards. This full‑time position supports the store’s operational efficiency through diligent stock control and housekeeping.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, and stage merchandise, marking items for proper placement.
• Stack received goods on pallets or carts and rotate stock to maintain freshness.
• Complete requisition forms, notify supervisors of low stock, and assist cost controllers with par‑stock levels.
• Uphold HACCP procedures, maintain clean and sanitized storage areas, and manage waste removal.
• Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions while following safety and security policies.
• Communicate effectively with cost control, receiving, and store teams to ensure procedural compliance.

Required profile

• Previous experience in stock control, stores, or a similar role.
• Ability to work accurately without supervision and handle pressurised environments.
• Strong attention to detail, planning, and organisational skills.
• Commitment to food safety, quality assurance, and workplace safety standards.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Effective use of email for communication and documentation.
