Store Supervisor - Mompati Mall

About the role

homechoice, a leading South African homeware retailer, is looking for a Store Supervisor for its Mompati Mall showroom. The role supports the Showroom Manager in delivering strong sales performance, operational excellence and compliance, focusing on day-to-day execution, administration, internal controls and supervision of frontline staff.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Showroom Manager in driving sales performance and showroom productivity, ensuring daily sales follow targets and promotional priorities, and monitor floor activity and staff adherence to selling standards.
• Manage administrative procedures and operational processes in line with policies, SOPs and legal requirements, and conduct routine checks for risks, non-compliance or process gaps.
• Support stock control: oversee receiving, scanning, storage and movement of stock, run cycle counts and stocktakes, and report variances, damages and risks.
• Ensure cash handling procedures are followed accurately, including counting and reconciliation, and investigate and report cash discrepancies and counterfeit risks.
• Supervise showroom staff, support onboarding and induction, and coach staff on internal controls, operational standards and risk awareness.
• Compile operational, stock and compliance reports, maintain records for audits and governance reviews, and escalate issues to the Showroom Manager.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and promote a safe, compliant workplace.

Required profile

• Minimum of 5 years' experience in a retail environment.
• Minimum of 3 years in retail administration or operations.
• Grade 12 / Matric / NQF Level 4 (minimum requirement).
• Clear credit and criminal record.

Required skills

• Strong understanding of stock, cash handling and internal control processes.
• Strong computer literacy and ability to work on retail and reporting systems.
• Attention to detail, organized and process-driven, with the ability to escalate issues appropriately.
