Store Assistant Manager (Trainee) – Mpumalanga

About the role

We are seeking four Store Assistant Managers to support Store Managers in Nelspruit and Secunda, Mpumalanga. The role involves assisting with overall store operations, managing staff, meeting sales targets, and upholding high standards of customer service, stock control and administration.

Key responsibilities

• Assist Store Managers in day‑to‑day store operations.
• Supervise and coach store staff to achieve performance goals.
• Monitor and drive sales targets and store profitability.
• Maintain high standards of customer service and visual merchandising.
• Oversee stock control, inventory accuracy and administrative tasks.

Required profile

• Grade 12 / Matric (essential).
• Relevant Retail or FMCG qualification (advantageous).
• At least 5 years experience in Retail/FMCG across multiple departments (receiving, cash office, administration, sales floor).
• Minimum 3 years supervisory experience.
• Strong organisational, leadership and problem‑solving abilities.
• Good knowledge of retail operations and reporting.
• Valid driver’s licence, reliable transport and ability to travel locally.
• Willingness to work retail hours.
