Staff Nurse (Grade 1‑3) – Riversdale Hospital

About the role

The Western Cape Department of Health and Wellness is recruiting Staff Nurses (Grade 1‑3) for Riversdale Hospital in the Garden Route District. The role involves delivering basic clinical nursing care and supporting patient care plans across various wards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement basic patient care plans.
• Provide basic clinical nursing care.
• Utilise physical and financial resources effectively.
• Maintain professional growth, ethical standards and self‑development.
• Take actions to improve the quality of nursing care.
• Participate in infection prevention and control activities.

Required profile

• Qualification that allows registration with the SANC as a Staff Nurse and current registration with the SANC.
• Experience: Grade 1 – none; Grade 2 – minimum 10 years of recognised nursing experience after registration; Grade 3 – minimum 20 years of recognised nursing experience after registration.
• Willingness to work shifts, night duty, weekends, public holidays and overtime, and to assist in other wards when needed.
